The first thing to note about this site is that it was created in the early 2000s and contains examples, how-to's and Q&A for most versions. Fear not! SDI has not changed and the current product version numbering reflects its being containerized (i.e. deployable as a kubernetes image).
So regardless of the version you are using, if you are new then it's recommended you spend a couple of hours on the Getting Started Guide . There is also video tutorials, like this beginner lesson split into Part 1 and Part 2. The Guide and videos give you hands-on experience crafting basic data movement solutions. This exposes you to important concepts and features, showing you how to visualize and interface with different types of datastores and services is a standardized manner. In addition, both the Data Browser and AL Debugger features make evolving solutions more visual and agile. You also have the TDI Launchpad page, Tutorial videos and the various examples and more Tutorials on this site.

Versions
The latest version of SDI is 10, although as mentioned above, documentation, videos, examples and tutorials for versions 7.* are still relevant. Even most for 6.*, although the UI looks even funkier.
Here is the official list of recommended fixes for all versions of TDI/SDI. Be sure to have the latest FP. And to update the JVM that TDI users to at least 8.Note: each fixpack (FP) also includes previous ones, so all you need is the latest. This not the case for Interim Fixes (IF).
