This enormously useful component was built by Lak Sri of the inimitable TDI L2 team and has multiple uses.
First off, you get a powerful test Iterator for your
AssemblyLine, letting you either hard-code Input Maps with
JavaScript and Expressions (which I use all the time for literal XML) or parse data that you copy-paste straight into the Entry Raw Data field of the Connector. As you can imagine, it's perfect for scripting your own Parser since you have such easy control over the input stream.
And where the Parser FC is handy for parsing out a single Entry from an Attribute value, the
FormEntry Connector lets you Iterate over multiple Entries parsed. This is done by using it in a Connector Loop and exploiting the Parameter Map tab to set the
entryRawData
parameter, providing the input stream for the Connector.
Just edit com.ibm.di.loader.userjars in Solution/Global Properties to point to where you keep your custom .jar files (like this one), and then restart TDI.
